1 killed, 2 injured in multi-vehicle St. Clair County crash
An Anniston man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in St. Clair County.
Alabama State Troopers identified the fatality victim as Ryan C. Harrison. He was 36.
The wreck happened at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 59, about four miles north of Ashville.
Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey said Harris was driving a Kia Optima that collided head-on with a 2022 Toyota Corolla driven by 29-year-old Derramus C. Bothwell of Steele.
After the initial impact, the Kia was then hit by a Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Ronald Edouard, 39, of Florida.
As a result of the impact, the Kia left the roadway and overturned. The Freightliner also left the roadway and struck a tree.
The crash left debris in the roadway, which was struck by a 2018 Volvo tractor-trailer driven by Tajuanna S. Lewis, 42, of Calera.
Bailey said Harrison was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Bothwell was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
Edouard was also injured and taken by ambulance to UAB Hospital for treatment.
