1 killed, 2 injured in Cullman County head-on crash
One man was killed, and two other people were injured in a head-on crash in Cullman County.
Alabama State Troopers on Friday identified the fatality victim as Jerry M. Simmons. He was 72 and lived in Logan.
The wreck happened at 12:50 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 278, about 10 miles west of Cullman.
Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey said Simmons was driving a Toyota Tacoma that collided head-on with a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Micah A. Godfrey, 27, of Arley.
Simmons was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Micah A. Godfrey and his passenger, 24-year-old Kelsey Godfrey, were injured. They were taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.
Neither were using a seat belt at the time of crash, Bailey said.
