A Georgia man was killed in a Lee County traffic crash.

Alabama State Troopers on Friday identified the fatality victim as Ignacio B. Luisa. He was 30 and lived in Hampton, Ga.

The wreck happened at 4:42 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 85, about seven miles north of Opelika, said Trooper Sgt. Jeremy Burkett.

Authorities said Luisa was a passenger in a Ford F-350 pickup truck that left the interstate, struck a concrete barrier, and overturned.

Luisa was not using a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle, Burkett said. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Another passenger, 19-year-old Marco Antonio Del Los Santos, was taken to East Alabama Medical Center with undisclosed injuries.

The driver, 37-year-old Esteban Ignacio-Olaguna, 27, was not injured.
