1 in custody following threat to North Alabama school

Marshall County Sheriff Phil Sims said Asbury High School in Albertville is on “high awareness” after a potential threat Thursday.

Sims said in a statement that deputy school resource officers at the school became aware of a “potential threat” to the school early this morning.

A person, whose name was not released, was taken into custody.

There is no immediate threat to the school,” Sims said. “SROs and members of Asbury School staff were quick to take action to determine if the threat was substantiated and to protect the school and students.”
