One person is dead following a shooting Wednesday night in Madison County.

Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Brent Patterson said the incident happened at about 8 p.m. in the 300 block of Ready Section Road in Hazel Green.

One person, whose name was not released, died in an apparent domestic violence-related shooting.

Patterson said more details on the case may be forthcoming later today.
