1 arrested after early morning Mobile shooting with life-threatening injuries

Mobile police say one person was critically injured following a shooting early Sunday morning.

Public Information Officer Blake Brown said the incident happened at about 1:57 a.m. outside a business in the 200 block of Dauphin Street.

Officers were called to the area following the shooting, and around the same time, a man with life-threatening injuries arrived by personal vehicle to a local hospital.

Back on the scene, officers quickly identified and located a man who was still in the area who they suspected as being involved in the shooting.

Oscar Phillips, 29, was arrested and transported to Metro Jail. He has been charged with first degree assault, attempting to elude, certain persons forbidden to carry a firearm and a probation violation.
