007 fans want a familiar face as the new Bond actor: “Who’d you pick as the next Bond?”

Now that Amazon MGM studios have full creative control of the decades long 007 franchise, the question is “Who’d you pick as the next Bond?”

Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s founder and CEO, asked the question on X, formerly known as Twitter, to his 6.8 million followers and a familiar name with an iconic character history is in the lead, according to Variety.

British actor Henry Cavill, best known for his portrayal as Superman, is the frontrunner for James Bond, Variety reported.

This isn’t surprising as Cavill auditioned for the lead in 2006’s “Casino Royale,” starring Daniel Craig. The film’s director, Martin Campbell, said Cavill’s audition was “tremendous.” He looked great but was too young at the time.

“He looked terrific, he was in great physical shape…very handsome, very chiseled,” Campbell said.

Cavill, 41, went on to become the Man of Steel but also picked up a few spy-friendly roles, including in the 2015 movie “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” the 2018 hit “Mission Impossible: Fallout” and 2024’s “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” where Cavill played a character partially inspired by James Bond, according to Forbes.

Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli recently started a joint venture with Amazon MGM studios. All three are co-owners of the 007 franchise, but Amazon MGM has creative control Amazon bought MGM, or Metro Goldwyn Mayer, in 2023.

Other fan suggestions include actors Tom Cruise, Michael B. Jordan and James McAvoy.

There’s currently no timeline to announce the new James Bond actor.
